Description :

We are currently recruiting undergraduate research assistants/interns for 2023-2024 winter/spring. We conduct many interdisciplinary research projects on Applied Cognitive Psychology (Empathy, Spatial Cognition, etc.) , UI/UX, Human-AI/Robot Interaction, and Social/Empathetic AI.

  1. Qualifications
    1. Proficiency with programming languages (Python, R) for AI, Large scale data, and Statistical analysis
    2. Willing to work 12 hours a week, for one semester at the least
    3. Responsible, cooperative and strict about deadlines
    4. Both recent undergraduate students/ alumni are applicable
    5. Available to work offline in lab (1 - 2 days per week)

  2. Responsibility
    1. Participation in lab meetings (offline)
    2. Participation in weekly journal clubs/methodology workshop (online)
    3. Assistance in lab research projects
      • 1. literature review
      • 2. data collecting, preprocessing, and coding
      • 3. data labelling for AI
      • 4. participating in usability tests

  3. Preferred Qualifications
    1. Having taken psychological statistics and research methodology classes
    2. Proficiency with big data/deep learning/machine learning/large language model (Advantage for practical experience)
    3. Have experience with tools that are used for UI/UX and Virtual Reality (VR) (Including Unity, Unreal Engine, Blender-3D, Figma etc.)
